The Holy Eucharist is at the center of sacramental life. At Mass, during the Liturgy of the Eucharist, we are nourished by the Body and Blood of Christ, and we renew our commitment to Jesus.
Children in the second grade at Resurrection School are prepared for First Holy Communion, which they receive in May of the second grade. Children not attending Resurrection Grammar are prepared in their second grade in the Parish Religious Education Program (PREP), which is Resurrection’s CCD program. Before a child may receive First Holy Communion, First Reconciliation or Confirmation, he or she must complete two years of formal classroom religious education.
In addition, Holy Communion is brought to the hospitalized and homebound by the parish priests and Eucharistic Ministers. To make arrangements for hospitalized or homebound patients to receive the sacraments, please contact one of the parish priests at (914) 967-0142.
For information regarding adult First Communion, please consult Right of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA).
